What is GuruFest?

Beautiful Olin College

Beautiful Olin College Campus

GuruFest is a series of lectures/lessons held at Olin College. OLPC is losing many talented employees in light of slow Give 1 Get 1 sales and "refocusing." They each have a huge base of knowledge and it will be difficult to fill their shoes. But before they journey away to new adventures and new employment, they will be stopping by Olin College to share their experiences. We at the Olin College OLPC Chapter are very excited to hear their stories and pick up new skills. We hope that you will join us!

Who are the Gurus and what will they be talking about?

Be sure to check out the schdeule. Our Gurus will discuss:

Mel Chua:

Community Facilitation and QA:
"getting people excited and breaking things"

Henry Hardy:

The History and Future of the Net  (canceled—for now)

Greg Smith:

Building XO User <-> Developer Relationships

Caroline Meeks:

Sugar on a Stick

Where will GuruFest be held?

GuruFest will meet in the Olin College Campus Center. We will be on the second floor in the crescent room. Just get yourself to Olin, find the Campus Center (1 of 3 academic buildings) and look for signs.

Does GuruFest cost money?

No. Our work in organizing GuruFest is paid back by the community interaction it will provide.

Food, however, is not free. But the remaining fest doesn't have food, so don't worry about it.

Should I RSVP?

Nope, just bring yourself to one of our four sessions.
